RNCM Students and Robin Wallington (conductor)

RNCM Concert Hall

We’re thrilled to work side by side with RNCM students in this exciting evening of music.

Kicking things off with Jessie Montgomery’s Starburst, a short one movement work for string orchestra that musically mirrors a galactic starburst with exploding gestures of sound amidst fleeting melodies; followed by Dvořák’s Cello Concerto in B minor with RNCM alum and concerto finalist Jack Bailey. Finally, the evening rounds off with Mendelssohn’s Symphony No 5 in D major, originally conceived to celebrate the Protestant Reformation.

Performing

  • Jessie Montgomery Starburst
  • Antonín Dvořák Cello Concerto in B minor Op 104
  • Felix Mendelssohn Symphony No 5 in D major Op 107 ‘Reformation’

Performed by
