Manchester Camerata Returns to The Met with Emily Mercer

We’re performing for free at The Met, Bury, as part of our ‘Here We Are’ festival. This initiative brings world-class live music to all ten boroughs of Greater Manchester, reinforcing our commitment to making world-class music accessible to everyone.

Join us for an evening of musical collaboration featuring our musicians, alongside the incredibly talented singer/songwriter, Emily Mercer. A distinguished artist from The Met’s Talent Development Programme, Emily Mercer’s unique sound seamlessly blends indie-pop hooks, jazz-inspired harmony, and classic piano songwriting. This special performance coincides with the launch of her highly anticipated debut album, ‘Read Aloud’, set to release on September 18th, 2026.

Following a sold-out performance at The Met last year, we anticipate high demand for this free concert. The program will feature arrangements by Richard Taylor.

This event is a testament to the vibrant music scene in Greater Manchester; don’t miss out!

‘Amazing recommendation’ – Guy Garvey, BBC 6 Music

‘Such a great track’ [Read Aloud] – John Kennedy, Radio X

‘Her jazzy, quirk-pop creations are full of surprising twists and turns, as packed with charming idiosyncrasies as they are big, hummable tunes.’ – Manchester Evening News

‘Vocals that feel like honey melting’ – Sherry Sahayaraj, Fresh On The Net

Doors open at 1pm, with the show starting at 1.30pm.
