Here We Are: Dementia Friendly Performance
Experience World-Class Music in Greater Manchester: Manchester Camerata Brings a Free Dementia-Friendly Performance to St Andrews House Medical Centre as part of our Here We Are Festival.
Join us for a special dementia-friendly concert featuring a Manchester Camerata wind quintet, including one of our Music in Mind musicians. Alongside the performance, audiences will experience a demonstration of our pioneering Music in Mind programme, showcasing how music can help people living with dementia reconnect with themselves and their loved ones.
The event concludes with a performance by the wind quintet, with everyone invited to join in on percussion and make music together.
For over a decade, Music in Mind has transformed the lives of thousands of people affected by dementia through the power of music in partnership with The University of Manchester. Developed by Manchester Camerata, the programme uses improvisation and shared musical experiences to foster meaningful connection, communication and wellbeing, and is recognised as a leading example of creative health in action.
Whether you’re living with dementia, supporting someone who is, or simply curious to learn more about the impact of music on health and wellbeing, everyone is welcome to attend this uplifting and engaging performance.
