Here We Are: Open Rehearsals
Join us for our free open rehearsals and experience the creative process of orchestral music-making as it unfolds.
We will be performing in all ten boroughs of Greater Manchester as part of our Here We Are Festival, reinforcing our commitment to making world-class music accessible to all.
These open rehearsals offer a rare opportunity to see the collaboration, experimentation and artistry that happens behind the scenes.
Watch conductor Christoph Altstaedt and the orchestra shape a programme that spans almost 800 years of music, from the extraordinary medieval harmonies of Pérotin to the pioneering minimalism of Terry Riley. You’ll also hear rehearsals for Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 with pianist Ethan Loch, Charles Ives’ groundbreaking The Unanswered Question, and a brand-new work by Alan Williams, created with carers from across Greater Manchester as part of our Here We Are Festival.
