In early January 2019 we returned to Cumbria for the third year of our Cumbria Calling project, in collaboration with Cumbria Music Hub and Orchestras Live.

The project began with introductory sessions at high schools in Whitehaven and the surrounding areas. The whole project runs until July 2019 and will bring together young people from all over West Cumbria to compose a new piece of music which will be performed in a series of concerts in July.

In order to learn more about the local area, its history and how the landscape has changed, we also met with a group of local community members in Whitehaven Library (pictured above) to make music together and listen to their wisdom on all things West-Cumbiran!
