Classically Yours is a programme which brings classical music to both young and older members of various communities around the country that have less access to high quality live music. In collaboration with East Riding Council and Orchestras Live, we’re delivering workshops with young and older people to compose and perform pieces of music based on themes of their choice.

After last year’s successful ‘At Home’ project, we are continuing to engage with four care homes in Withernsea, East Riding, through a series of creative music making workshops. 24 sessions will be delivered from September 2018 to March 2019, engaging up to 160 residents. The residents will be given the choice to perform their pieces in a relaxed concert with Manchester Camerata musicians on 21st March 2019 at the Meridian Centre, Withersnea.

Sessions will build on the successful format of last year’s project but will include the addition of reflection time between the Manchester Camerata musicians and care home staff, to ensure that care staff are fully involved in the delivery of the sessions and can continue exploring music-making with the residents in between our sessions.
