Classically Yours is a programme which aims to bring classical music to both the young and older members of various communities around the county of East Riding where there is currently less access to high quality live musical experiences. 

Building on last year’s partnership work, Manchester Camerata and Withernsea High School are developing further links between the high school and their local feeder primary schools. Through the delivery of a ‘transition’ project, young people aged 8-13 will create new music based on Camerata concert themes in their school classes alongside Camerata musicians and then come together to rehearse and perform as a collective at three spectacular culmination performances!

In October 2018, the schools looked at the theme of mountains and created a piece that was orchestrated by composer Kate Pearson to be performed by the 13-piece orchestra, alongside pieces such as ‘In The Hall of The Mountain King’.

The schools are working alongside Kate Pearson and Camerata musicians throughout 2019 to produce new pieces of music ahead of a concert at Withernsea High School on 17th July 2019.
