Songs of the Bulbul Receives 5⭐- The Guardian

“Songs of the Bulbul” made its world premiere at the Edinburgh International Festival, and The Guardian’s glowing 5-star review says it all!

We recorded this score with Rushil Ranjan to accompany a solo dance performed by Aakash Odedra.

“Songs of the Bulbul has the confidence of a performer who has found his place. It is a song of beauty and light and life.” – The Guardian

“Odedra’s solo dance sails on composer Rushil Ranjan’s sumptuous, cinematic score played in a recording by co-commissioners Manchester Camerata.” – The Guardian

This piece also won ‘Best Show’ at Edinburgh International Festival!

See more of Rushil’s work at our upcoming concert माया Māyā (An Orchestral Exploration of Carnatic Music). Together with Carnatic virtuosos Abi Sampa, Praveen Prathapan, Janan Sathiendran, and Krishnaprasad KV, we will explore and blend the sound of Western Classical Orchestra with Carnatic traditions.
