Thank You Day!

Our Camerata musicians have been down in London with Tony Christie, re-recording the 1978 classic ‘Thank You For Being A Friend’.

The song, has been recorded for our friends Music for Dementia, with a group of specially selected carers, representing Britain’s army of unsung heroes, especially for Thank You Day.

Music for Dementia is leading the music side of the Thank You Day celebrations. We want to celebrate the hundreds of thousands of people in Britain who change their own lives to care for someone else, particularly those living with dementia.

The plan is for everyone (YES, THAT MEANS YOU TOO!) to participate in a mass singalong at 3pm on Sunday 2 July for Thank You Day.

More than 450,000 are already set to take part through the Girl Guides, Women’s Institute, Asda, Young Voices, Dementia Choirs and 4,000 Care homes as part of Care Home Open Week. And to help you guys at home the backing track and sheet music has been made free to download right here.

Our recording with Tony Christie (plus a host of hush-hush top-secret celebs) will be released later this month so watch this space for more!
