Manchester Camerata with Karen Cargill: Hearing Voices

Thu 4 April 2024, 7:30pm,
The Great Hall, Lancaster

We take our Hearing Voices show with Karen Cargill on the road to Lancaster.

Hearing Voices explores the work and memory of those before us, told dramatically by three powerful voices. Manchester Camerata — Kantos Chamber Choir and Karen Cargill.

From Purcell to Part, with Britten’s Phaedra as a centrepiece, the evening will tell a story of obsession, forbidden love and death.

Scottish mezzo-soprano Karen Cargill is one of the most renowned singers of her generation. Winner of the 2002 Kathleen Ferrier Award, Karen has gone on to be nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Operatic Recording as part of the Metropolitan Opera’s recording of Dialogues des Carmélites.
