Manchester Camerata receives vital Recovery Fund grant

We are pleased to announce we were fortunate enough to receive vital aid as part of Government’s Culture Recovery fund.

This aid has helped us enormously with our Recovery and Impact plan and means we can progress our digital film series Untold, providing much needed work and income for our freelance musicians. It will also enable us to perform a small number of socially distanced live concerts and to deliver more Music in Mind sessions virtually with people living with dementia. The grant will also include collaborative work with other cultural and educational organisations in the region to deliver a joint audience campaign and to support 8000 young people in schools through creative digital resources and creative-led curriculum-based activities.

The aim of this grant is to help keep Camerata solvent until the end of March 2021, so we’re not out of the woods yet.

We would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to the individuals, trusts and businesses who have supported our Recovery & Impact Plan, it means such a lot to all of us in what has been an incredibly difficult year, not least our freelance musicians who we are keen to get back into employment – without them, we simply cannot make the impact we make for our communities. We would also like to thank Arts Council England for supporting us as part of the Government’s Culture Recovery Fund. Their continued support is invaluable.

Our plan now is to keep innovating how we make impact for people during this pandemic – as well as Untold, we will progress our plans to upscale our dementia programme (both later and young onset) so many more people benefit.
