Venture Arts: Michael Beard

Venture Arts: Michael Beard

4 - 20 July,
Aviva Studios, Manchester

Welcome to the Venture Arts pop-up open studio – a relaxed space for creativity with artist-in-residence Michael Beard

Michael Beard is an artist from Venture Arts – an award-winning organisation that works with neurodivergent and learning disabled artists in Manchester. His work covers painting, illustration and ceramic sculpture, and often features handwriting, letters and references to his immense passion for travel.

He will join us, alongside Company Chameleon for a live collaborative performance.

What happens in an artist studio? How does a working environment impact creativity? The open studios are a chance to see where the magic happens – just drop by the Lab to see Michael create bold, large-scale artworks before your very eyes.

On select days, the Lab will transform into a performance space. Watch Michael, star dancers from Company Chameleon and chamber musicians from Manchester Camerata respond to each other’s work. How might their practice change with collaboration?

When Michael is not at work, the Lab will host a range of artists from Venture Arts. Come and say hello, watch a film about this exciting project or join a bookable workshop. Let’s channel the creative energy of the space together.

Whether you want to watch Michael work, join a creative workshop or need a relaxed space away from the busy festival, the Lab is open for all to enjoy.

Full schedule coming soon.
