Tom’s musical career spans a diverse range of genres, showcasing his versatility as a performer. Over the years, he has had the privilege of collaborating with some of the world’s most renowned artists, from Martha Argerich, Herbert Blomstedt, and Maxim Vengerov to Burt Bacharach and Dizzee Rascal, reflecting his ability to navigate both classical and contemporary landscapes with ease.
A sought-after guest principal player, Tom regularly performs with some of the UK’s leading symphony orchestras, including the Philharmonia, CBSO, BBC Scottish Symphony, and Bournemouth Symphony Orchestras. He was appointed Co-Leader/No 2 of Manchester Camerata in 2024. He is also a frequent collaborator with other esteemed chamber ensembles such as the English Chamber Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the London Sinfonietta.
In 2023, Tom joined the Gildas String Quartet as First Violin, fueling his long-standing passion for chamber music. The quartet is set for an exciting 2025, performing across the UK, including at prestigious events like the Three Choirs Festival and the Aldeburgh Festival, where they will premiere Colin Matthew’s String Quartet No. 6. Tom is also a member of the Lipatti Piano Quartet, and has played alongside celebrated musicians such as Lawrence Power, Anthony Marwood, Tamsin Waley-Cohen, and Tom Poster at various chamber music festivals.
An accomplished soloist, Tom has performed numerous major violin concertos, including works by Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Stravinsky, Vivaldi and Sibelius. 2025 marks a significant milestone in his career with his debut performances of the Brahms and Elgar concertos, alongside Vaughan Williams’ The Lark Ascending in June.
