Lucy Makinson

Trustee

Lucy is retraining as an archaeologist after 25 years in the civil service; she is currently researching food cultures in Roman Britain.

In her public service career, Lucy worked in senior policy and strategy roles in the civil service, including at HM Treasury; her most recent positions were Strategic Director for Commissioning at Manchester City Council and before that Director at the Department for Education.

Lucy has been a trustee of the Camerata since 2017.   She is strongly committed to making classical music accessible to all, and is also a trustee of Manchester Baroque, and a school governor.

We believe in the power of music to change lives.
