An Afternoon With Mozart And Bach In Colne

Date: Sunday 05th June 2016 14:30

Venue: The Muni Theatre, Colne

Manchester Camerata’s Principal Oboe Rachael Clegg originally hails from Colne and for our season finale she teams up with leader Adi Brett to perform Bach&s Double Concerto for Violin and Oboe. This characterful concerto expertly showcases the qualities of each solo instrument and in the hands of two very fine musicians Bach obviously enjoyed writing for the two contrasting instruments and this can be heard in the lively interplay and interaction between the soloists. CPE Bach and Mozart were contemporaries and both the symphonies you&ll hear in this afternoon concert are full of brilliant invention, energy and joy.
