Halloween Family Creativity Day Chester
Posted on September 19, 2010
Join us for a Halloween themes Family Creativity Day in Chester on Saturday 23 October 2010, at Queen’s School, Chester.
10.15am to 3.00pm
A fun day when all members of the family can get creative!
The aim is for families to spend the day together working creatively on a particular story or theme, to produce an afternoon performance. The theme of this event is Halloween – all things gothic and ghoulish!
When each family arrives at 10.15am they are allocated toone of three groups and work on a rotation basis to experience three workshops.
– The first workshop is percussion based and everyone can have a go on a huge range of percussion, including sleigh bells, gongs, timpani, drums, wind chimes, exotic African and Asian instruments.
– The second workshop is craft based and everyone gets to make props, scenery, costumes and instruments for the final performance.
– The third workshop is drama based and gives everyone involved the chance to breathe life into a script and flex their acting muscles!
The three groups come together at the end for a final performance on the stage.
The day is most suitable for children between the ages of 7 and 11 although this is very flexible. Children must be accompanied by an adult, who will take an active role in the day’s activities! There is a short break for lunch and you can invite non-participating family and friends along to the final performance at 2.30pm.
£5.00 (adults) / £3.00 (children)
Entry for the final performance is free
