Get Creative In This Year’s Songlines Project

Posted on June 16, 2014

We are looking for young people aged 10-14 with high functioning Autism/Asperger syndrome and young people who face barriers to involvement in the arts to get creative in our music, drama and visual arts project.

Now in its sixth successful year, Songlines is a special opportunity for young people with ASD and their peers to explore their creative side and devise a brand new piece of music theatre with a team of experienced artists from Manchester Camerata and the Royal Exchange Theatre.

Participants will build skills in music, drama, visual arts and teamwork in a friendly, supportive environment during the free weekly sessions, before sharing their work with family and friends at the end of each term.

Songlines Project Performance March 2014

The project will run from September 2014 to March 2015. In the Autumn term there will be two groups:
– Tuesday evenings (for young people with high functioning Autism/Asperger syndrome)
– Thursday evenings (for young people without ASD who face barriers to involvement in the arts)

In the Spring term the two groups will come together and meet weekly on Monday evenings.

Songlines is free to attend, however due to limited numbers places must be booked in advance by Friday 15 August and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

To discuss how you and your child might become involved with the project, please contact Lucy Geddes on or call 0161 226 8696.
